5 TRENDS TO TAKE FROM TRADITIONAL FASHION WEEK

Fashion week arrives upon us quicker than we expected, I remember Julee asking me 'wasn't Fashion Week like, a couple of months ago?' and I giggle every time like, 'yes yes - it's twice a year babe'.
It also does come and leave super quickly too, so before all the excitement is over (well technically it already is) let's chat trends to take on board. As you know the show we watch in February is actually about the upcoming season.

I've never been the person to follow every trend each season, I tend to look for comfort and style that I feel will most interlink with my personal style. I guess the way I see the style, I would get inspired by a show/item/country - whatever it is and I take a detail from it that I add to my overall personal look.

So, a lot of the outfits are a mixture of personal picks this season, that would include some styles inspired by the upcoming summer/ Autumn / Winter trends and of course some current Spring / Summer faves.

1. PINK

Pink hair, pink shoes or pink coat - PINK it is! You couldn't get more Spring-ready without some pink in your wardrobe. For A/W the slightly darker fuchsia pink is to hit the streets.

 2. STRIPES

Guess what, the 90's flare is also back! Stripes on trousers for Spring, Stripes on dresses for Summer, Stripes on A/W coats and scarfs. Love, love, love.

3. MATCHING SEPARATES

Whatever the texture, print, color - matching bottoms and tops are surely very much in, yes that includes denim!

4. 90's Small/Cat Sunglasses

I'm obsessed, I cannot stop buying these. I want them all.

5. LAYERS

I've really enjoyed mixing up some layers for this Fashion Week, especially that it was quite cold these outfits kept me most warm ha. But seriously, I've been mix and matching and layering more than ever the past few months and surely planning on bringing this back for A/W 18. This can really make an outfit look more stylish rather than sticking to the usual 'top and bottoms' routine, add accessories, find a hat you like, add a new cardigan/jacket over your shoulders, sunglasses - done.

Hope you've enjoyed this quick style post! Leave me a comment on what trends/style pieces you are loving this season and taking onboard for Summer / Autumn / Winter 20?

How to Make a Fashionable Necklace with Craft Supplies

The bib necklace has become increasingly popular since celebrities with a fashion-forward sense of personality has begun wearing them. One example is Olivia Palermo, who was spotted in summer wearing the large fashion accessory around her neck. While it looks dramatic and unusual at the time, the accessory has grown and become more popular.

Due to its increase in popularity, the bib necklace is being sold in many clothing stores in a large price range. Some bib necklaces can be found for as little as $20, while others can reach the hundreds and even thousands of dollars. While some choose to spend money on purchasing their fashion accessories, others choose to make them at home using craft supplies and tools. Making a fashionable bib necklace is a simple process that allows you to customize it to suit your individual style

Create your Design and Choose your Felt

One of the first steps in creating your own bib necklace is to design the overall structure and size of it. Draw it on a piece of paper and hold it up to your chest to determine the overall size and cut. Examples include drawing butterfly wings, making a deep V-shape or making a basic bib shape. There are no rules, so create a shape that suits your personality.
Trace the sketch you have on the paper onto a piece of felt. The felt will be the base of your fashionable bib necklace, so choose your felt color carefully. For a neutral bib, choose a black, white or gray colored felt. Depending on the amount of pearls, stones or beads you add to your bib necklace, the felt may not be noticeable. Cut the felt out with a pair of scissors and place it down in front of you.

Add your Pearls, Stones or Beads

Choose the pearls, stones and beads you want on your bib necklace and create a pattern if you desire. While some people choose a random look by simply placing them on a bib, others want an organized look. Use sewing thread and a needle to secure the beads to the bib necklace, while using craft glue or a small hot glue gun to attach the pearls or stones to the felt.

Place all of your chosen items closely together on the bib, so the felt is hidden for the most part. Finish a quarter of the bib first and let it sit for an hour, so the glue can dry. Then proceed with the second quarter and let it sit. Repeat this step until the felt bib is covered, so you get the design you desire without sacrificing the professional and fashionable end.

How to Select Dresses for Rectangle Shaped Body

Are you really confused about your body shape and how to dress in the best way possible to get an impressive look? Then you are at the right place. Here we’ll discuss the body shape you have and how you need to dress to look extraordinarily striking.

If you notice that your bust is relatively smaller that the hips and the waist is really awesome to give a little show off kind of thing, you have a rectangle shape body. This is sometimes also compared to a triangle. Lean from above, goes broader below. Generally, people with a pear shape body tend to accumulate fat first in the bottoms and legs, followed by tummy and upper body parts. The neck is quite elegant and the arms and shoulders are in proportion. Your big booties and slim waist can do wonders if you dress up really well with respect to your body. Gone are the days when females with such curves and plumps at the right place used to hide it. With Beyoncé and K. Kardashian, the trend is on the top to look sexier and hotter with your conspicuous and curvy look. So, if you have got it, flaunt it.

Now the main issue is how to select a perfect dress for a shape body. To get the best look for your slim waist and little wider hips, you need to dress up like a pro. You need to enhance your upper body or rather you have to give an illusion of added volume there. The waist needs to be highlighted of course being the biggest asset. This will give a proper shape like an hourglass – one perfect figure anyone could have. Get your wardrobe filled with slim fitted, button down shirts or cardigans. Since the main aim is to bring to light the torso region, choose bright and vibrant colors. The pattern could be big prints with bold colors so that the chest area seems wider that it actually is. Off-shoulders, wide and deep V or U necks would be best fitted for the pear-shaped body.

You can also opt to A-line dresses, since the main purpose of them is to slim down the lower body, emphasizing much on the upper parts. If you are wearing jackets or coats, then try to gear yourself up with those that finish either above or below the widest point of your bottom just like the tops. The sleeves can be made in such a way that give broader look by having shoulder pads, puffed sleeves, cap sleeve t-shirts or boleros. For the upper portion or the torso, these are considered best dresses for pear shaped body.

For wearing skirts and pants, you need to be more precise towards getting those with wide hems. The wider hems give a proportionate look and is considered as one of the best dresses for pear shaped body, making you look visually balanced.

Choosing Proper Dress for Your Body Shape

A proper dressing is not just about charm but is equally about confidence and image as well. It is needless to say that you must have experienced that casual boost in your level of confidence when you are out in an outfit that you think is perfect for you, or that is much appreciated by everyone. However, a good proportion of women are left hanging when it comes to choosing the right dress for their body shape. Mostly, they end their dress hunt on the one that may not be the best for them or a wrong one. Well, if you are one of those, this article may certainly help you get the right dress for your body shape.

At first place you need to realize that there is nothing so complicated involved about it. It is essentially about knowing your body shape. If you know what that is, which exactly would go well with your shape, you wouldn’t be searching the whole market all day, searching a perfect dress. Guaranteed, save yourself some time!

Rectangular Body Shape

You have a rectangular body if your shoulders, hips and waist are all of about the same width- and there is nothing bad about it. Just that when you are trying to make yourself stand out from the crowd, you must be focusing more if bringing some curves into view. For this, most basically, avoid shapeless or oversized clothes. Dresses with cinches can help defining the waist- avoid belt appearances. A good (bust padded) dress or inner wear or pleated or halter necked tops can be helpful in bringing out light upper body curve. Try some bring color combinations, tucked in blouses, long jackets and 3/4th sleeves.

Inverted Triangle Or Shape

If you have a broad shoulder and bust accompanied by thinner waist and hips, your body type is wedge or inverted triangle. Of course, here, your intension is to add volume to your lower body while softening your shoulders. Try some wide-hem pants. Experiments with old high-waist stuffs- that’s never out of your fashion. Full skirts with a bit of folds is certainly a yes. Avoid spaghetti straps or a boat necked one. The dresses that could clearly define your waist certainly must be give a greater preference and of course, get yourself a good shape-wear in all season.
